A breath, some inspiration and a tip

One of the things that most floored me last week was a Marcus Aurelius quote that I heard (again) at the Skoll World Forum. So I want to share it with you.

But wait, first, take a deep breath. ☀️

Was it really deep? If not, take another! ☀️

Ok, now that you are ready to soak this in, here goes:

***
In the end, what would you gain from everlasting remembrance? Absolutely nothing.
So what is left worth living for?
This alone:
Justice in thought, goodness in action, speech that cannot deceive, and a disposition glad of whatever comes, welcoming it as necessary, as familiar, as flowing from the same source and fountain as yourself.

***

What will you learn this week, maybe just for 30 minutes, so you can do more goodness in action?

To that end, 2 more things before I wrap up:

  1. I want to share with you a resource that is just about to launch and I am really excited for: 1tent. This will be a welcome (and FREE) virtual space for connection building and networking, that’s unique from the typical conference-like inequities of being talked “at”, where you can join together in collaboration and feel more seen, heard and noticed in the development sector. You will even get hand-matched, facilitated connections (!). 1tent is being developed to incorporate all voices, perspectives and backgrounds, regardless of region, language spoken or time zone. It´s launching in June, so I invite you to click the link above and join me on the list!

  2. I would be remiss not to remind you that we are still squarely in the best time of year to reach out to funders! How is it going for you and your organization?

Ok, that´s it for today!
