March is THE time

Welcome to March and the start of the BEST time to get in front of new funders.

That is because by March, many funders (with many exceptions and caveats) have just finished putting in place their new year strategies and identifying where pipeline is needed.

And come June, most funders are evaluating RFPs and considering new potential partners, so they can get money out the door by the end of the year.

March-May is your sweet spot!

This outreach requires science, art and common sense.

✔️ The science includes your outreach calendar, your inbox reminders to follow up when an email hasn't received a response, and your email templates so you can quickly send off multiple outreach emails.

✔️ The art involves knowing how to tailor your outreach template so it will resonate with each specific funder, and knowing when is a right time to follow up again.

✔️ And the common sense is positioning your organization as a solution to the funder’s mission and impact goals. Make your outreach mostly about them, and just enough about you to pique their interest in a call.

It is all about communicating smartly, humanly and proactively, and following up. Go for it! Reach out and introduce yourself. 🤝
